Disney themed hand sanitizer recalled due to chemical concerns

The FDA detected benzene and methanol in the products

If you’ve purchased a Mandalorian or Mickey Mouse branded hand sanitizer, the FDA is advising that you throw it away.

Both products have been voluntarily recalled by Best Brands Consumer Products after the FDA detected benzene in the Mandalorian-themed hand sanitizer and methanol in the Mickey Mouse one.

Benzene is a carcinogen and methanol can cause blurred vision, headaches and nausea.

The company was notified about the test results in late February and according to the FDA, the hand sanitizers were produced in April and May 2020.

Authorities are urging customers to stop using and discard any Mickey Mouse hand sanitizers that have a 20D21 lot number and a June 30, 2022 expiration date as well as any Mandalorian hand sanitizers with a 20E21 lot number and a Sept. 30, 2022 expiration date.

Adverse reactions or quality problems experienced with the use of this product may be reported to the FDA’s MedWatch Adverse Event Reporting program either online, by regular mail or by fax.
