ROANOKE, Va. – Across Virginia, the number of people living in areas where the CDC would recommend masking indoors continues to decrease.
Virginia went from 39 localities at a high-level last week, to 23.

Of those 23, 74% are in Southwest Virginia.
From last week, 17 localities went from a high level, to a medium level.
The CDC recommends that those in areas that have a high COVID-19 Community Level still wear a mask indoors in public.

The recommendations are based on a given area’s COVID-19 Community Level.
