LEXINGTON, Va. – Leaders with Balloons Over Rockbridge are looking for volunteers for the upcoming festival.
Staffers said this year, they expect to bring in thousands of people from across Virginia to participate in the event.
During the event, people can ride in hot air balloons, run in a 5K, enjoy local bands and other activities.
Organizers say the money raised during the festival will go to local charities in the community.
“Each year we are striving to be better, we are striving to do more, and everything that we bring in we redistribute back to the community to the local charities, this year we are focusing on that and working with Virginia Tourism Board, trying to bring more people to the area,” said Dawn Mays, a Balloons Over Rockbridge board member.
The event will be held the first weekend of July.
