Donating to Ukraine: How to make sure you’re giving money to accredited charities

If you’re looking to donate, be cautious of charities that say 100% of the donations will be spent on relief

As the crisis in eastern Europe continues, you may feel compelled to donate to charities in an effort to help Ukraine, but the Better Business Bureau wants to make sure your money is going to the right places.

The BBB is warning people about potential scams you may see, saying not all relief organizations will be able to provide timely assistance unless they already have a presence in Ukraine.

If you’re looking to donate, be cautious of charities that say 100% of the donations will be spent on relief. BBB says this is a major red flag because all charities have fundraising and other expenses to handle as well.
