Virginia’s Dept. of Treasury opens call bank to help find your money

Feb. 1 is National Unclaimed Property Day

RICHMOND, Va. – One in 4 Virginians has unclaimed property, like gift certificates, unpaid wages, or uncashed checks, waiting to be claimed, according to the Virginia Department of Treasury.

Feb. 1 is National Unclaimed Property Day. To celebrate, the Virginia Department of Treasury is holding a call event to help Virginians or anyone who has ever lived in Virginia find their missing property.

On Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., treasury staff will be ready to assist callers to search and start their claim process. This call event toll-free phone number 1-833-302-0704.
