Two adults displaced after Roanoke County house fire

ROANOKE COUNTY, Va.UPDATE

A fire in Roanoke County that displaced a couple early Monday morning was determined to be accidental, according to the fire marshall’s office.

Officials said the fire was ignited by wood that was stored near the chimney.

Damages are estimated at $15,000, according to Roanoke County Fire & Rescue.

Two adults are displaced after a house fire in Roanoke County on Monday morning, according to Roanoke County Fire & Rescue.

Authorities said the home is in the 7900 block of Franklin Road in Cave Spring near HoneyTree Early Learning Center and no injuries were reported.

The fire started as a chimney fire that spread through the wall, according to crews at the scene.

Officials said the couple that was displaced will be staying with family in the area.
