Two hurt in crash that closed VA-24 in Bedford County

UPDATE

Two people were taken to the hospital after a crash in Bedford County on Monday morning, according to Virginia State Police.

Authorities said the accident happened around 5:50 a.m. Two vehicles were involved in the head-on crash that happened on VA-24, police said.

One person was airlifted to Roanoke Memorial Hospital and another person was taken to Lynchburg General, authorities said.

State police do not have an estimated time on how long the road closure will last.

A crash has closed VA-24 in Bedford County, according to VDOT.

Authorities said that as of 6:54 a.m., all eastbound and westbound lanes are closed near Dickerson Mill Road.
