Driver hospitalized after crash on US-220 in Roanoke County

ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. – UPDATE, 9:26 A.M.

A driver is in the hospital after a crash closed US-220 on Thursday morning in Roanoke County.

Authorities said the crash near Webb Road involved a car, a pickup truck and a dump truck.

As of 9:26 a.m., southbound lanes are back open and authorities said northbound lanes will be reopened soon.

According to police, the victim in the hospital was driving the pickup truck and has non-life-threatening injuries.

Both directions of US-220 are closed due to a crash, according to Roanoke County Fire & Rescue.

Authorities said the accident happened near Webb Road.

Drivers have been asked to avoid the area.
