Police identify person of interest in Sunday’s deadly Lynchburg shooting

LYNCHBURG, Va.UPDATE

The Lynchburg Police Department is looking for this 27-year-old man it believes is connected to a deadly shooting Sunday night.

Police say Teron Slaughter is a person of interest in connection with the death of 66-year-old Frank Smith.

A man is dead after a shooting in Lynchburg on Sunday night, according to the Lynchburg Police Department.

Authorities said 66-year-old Frank Smith, of Lynchburg, was found in the 700 block of Madison Street and taken to Lynchburg General Hospital, where he later died.

Anyone with information is asked to call 434-455-6102.

Lynchburg police responded to a shooting in the 700 block of Madison Street Sunday night.

The department tweeted about the incident just before 10 p.m.

According to police, one victim was taken to Lynchburg General Hospital with serious injuries.
