One person has made it out of a house fire in northwest Roanoke unharmed, according to Roanoke Fire-EMS.

Crews said they had to cut open the front door and shovel out debris so they could make their way inside and put out the flames.
Authorities said that as of 5 a.m., crews were still working to make sure all of the hot spots were out.
One occupant escaped the home without injury. Crews had to cut open the front door and shovel out debris from the home to gain access to extinguish the flames. Crews are currently on the scene of a fire in northwest Roanoke, according to Roanoke Fire-EMS.
Authorities said crews were dispatched a little after 4 a.m. Friday to the 2500 block of Delaware Ave. NW.
