LYNCHBURG, Va. – Faced with mounting coronavirus cases, some countries – including England, Lebanon, and Germany – are going into national lockdowns.
Virginia Democratic Sen. Mark Warner hopes the U.S. does not follow suit.
During a news conference Tuesday, 10 News asked Warner if he would support a national lockdown and he said he believes there are other ways to reopen businesses and get children back into schools.
“If we can just get a couple more months of good behavior, I think we will start to see the vaccine at numbers kick in. I know we’re all tired of it. I’m tired of it as well, but let’s take these next couple of steps,” said Warner.
President-elect Joe Biden has said he, too, would not support a national lockdown.
