Roanoke authorities have identified the man who led police on a chase that turned into a standoff, as well as the charges he was wanted for.
According to the Roanoke Police Department, David Wills, 25, of Roanoke was wanted for attempted first-degree murder, felony possession of a firearm, shooting at an occupied vehicle and two counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Authorities say Wills is now being held at the Roanoke City Jail.

A standoff between a wanted man and Roanoke police led to a heavy police presence in the area of Hollins Road NE on Thursday night.
It started at around 8:45 p.m. when police tried to take a wanted man into custody, according to the Roanoke City Police Department.
The suspect led police on a short chase, which police said ended near Hollins Road NE and Mason Mill Road NE after police used spikes to disable the tires on his vehicle.
Police said the suspect was armed with a handgun. The situation evolved into a standoff lasting about three hours after the suspect wouldn’t get out of his car, according to police.
Authorities brought in a tactical team and negotiators. They were able to negotiate a peaceful surrender, according to police.
There weren’t any residents nearby during the standoff, according to police.
At this time, police aren’t releasing the man’s name or what he was wanted for.
The heavy police presence near Hollins Road prompted several roadblocks and forced residents to take detours.
