HENRY COUNTY (WSLS 10) - Henry County school leaders are addressing potential parent concerns about school bus safety.
On Tuesday, a car hit a bus carrying elementary students near Ridgeway. On March 1, a car ran into the back of a bus carrying middle and high school students in Collinsville.
No students were hurt in either crash.
The school district's communication director, Monica Adams-Hatchett, reassures parents that their students are safe when they're on the buses.
"Our bus drivers go through pretty extensive annual and regular semester training so that they practice safety habits," Hatchett explained. "They share that training with one another and they have to demonstrate their knowledge on a regular basis."
State police are still investigating both crashes.
The buses are expected to be repaired, though as of Wednesday, the school district wasn't sure exactly how much the repairs would cost.
