(NBC NEWS) - An Arlington, Texas, resident's chance encounter with a bobcat and a coyote at River Legacy Park shows the wild animals don't care about humans at all. Oh, and cats win versus dogs, too.

Jon Snow was riding his bike along the path at River Legacy Park east of Collins Street at about 3 p.m. Monday when he saw the pair.

Snow caught what happened next on video. The coyote appears to be oblivious to, or ignoring, the bobcat until the bobcat slowly walks over and then charges at the coyote.

The coyote yelps and cowers as the bobcat stares him down.

The bobcat then slowly walks up to Snow's bike then down the path where it stops and then walks by another biker.

Snow turns the camera back to the coyote who, after stretching, just watches the bobcat walk away.

Wildlife experts say similar sightings are possible as wild animals adapt to the recent rainfall and flash flooding.

"Animals adapt and they're going to go to higher ground," Furry Friendzy Animal Rescue and Wildlife Rehab's Pylar Pinkston said. "They're going to find a safe haven. They're going to go to where they can be protected."

If you see an injured or stranded animal, you should contact a wildlife rehabilitator, which can be found on the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department website.
