The Weather Authority Alert Day has been cleared, as all of the major winter precip is now out of the region.
Current radar scans are showing isolated bands of snow showers in the New River Valley and Roanoke Zones, but the majority of the winter precip has ended. These are part of the upslope snow machine that is still bringing showers to the mountains of West Virginia.
The next big weather story will be gusty winds and cold temperatures on the way! Winds will gust up to 30MPH this afternoon with sustained wind speeds from 5-15MPH.
Wind chill values will be especially cold Sunday morning in the New River Valley as cold air continues to move into the area.
High temperatures will warm into the upper 30s on Sunday, 40s on Monday, but will quickly fall into the 20s and 30s midweek.
