Deputies searching for armed and dangerous suspect in Rockingham County, NC

ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, North Carolina – The Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office in North Carolina is asking the public to be on the lookout for a man who is considered armed and dangerous.

Gavin Blayne Johnston is currently at large and is wanted in connection with an armed robbery that took place on Monday, July 17 at about 12 a.m.

Authorities say it happened on Miller Chapel Road and also involved Alejandro Mora Almeida, who was arrested and placed in the Rockingham County Detention Center. He currently has a secured bond of $100,000.

During the initial investigation, two male victims, who will not be named for safety reasons, told deputies that they had been walking along the roadside when a Red Cadillac stopped and two men got out. One of the men then shot a firearm into the ground before pointing it at the victims and demanding that they hand over their belongings, according to the victims.

Both Almeida and Johnston have been charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and injury to personal property.
