Man indicted in connection with 2019 murder in Campbell County

CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. – Officials have indicted a Campbell County man in connection with a 2019 homicide.

28-year-old Codi Dunbar, of Lynch Station, will face charges of murder and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Dunbar allegedly killed 26-year-old Christopher Tench, of Lynchburg, back in November 2019.

The office of the Campbell County Commonwealth’s Attorney presented the charges against Dunbar to a grand jury on Monday.

The investigation led authorities to private property in Pittsylvania County where they found Tench’s body.

The Campbell County Sheriff’s Office said the lengthy investigation into Tench’s murder led them to Dunbar as the killer.
