Man shot and killed overnight near W.R. Brews

Neighbors said they heard 10 gunshots

ROANOKE, Va. – 9:30 a.m. Sunday update:

A man was killed during a late night shooting in Roanoke Saturday night. According to Roanoke City police, the shooting happened just before midnight on the 3800 block of Williamson Road North West near the W.R. Brews restaurant.

Police were called to the scene for a report of shots fired. When officers arrived, they found the man dead from gunshot wounds outside a business in the immediate area. The man was pronounced dead on the scene. The victim's identity has not been released nor have details about what led to the shooting.

Emergency medical services left the scene in an ambulance just after midnight. Neighbors tell 10 News they heard five gunshots, a moment of silence, then five more gunshots.

Roanoke City police said this is an ongoing investigation. Police do not believe there is any further danger to the community regarding this incident. No arrests have been made at this time.
