Roanoke girl battling against rare, aggressive form of Leukemia dies

ROANOKE, Va. – She was a little girl who fought so hard against cancer and inspired others to fight for her.

But on Sunday, 4-year-old Rowan Price of Roanoke died.

Rowan's family posted on Facebook that Sunday at 11:45 a.m., Rowan died from the rare, aggressive form of leukemia she had been fighting since October.

Below is the update the family posted on its GoFundMe page:

Our hearts shattered into a million pieces today when Rowan took her last breath at 1145 am. Rowan was the best part of all of us! She knew no wrong, she knew no hurt, she knew no disappointment. She knew only happiness, love, and joy. And with one smile, she brought love, joy, and happiness. Even through 11 months of fighting and battling cancer, she never wavered. She smiled and danced through it all with such grace and dignity.

I believe she was our Earth Angel. Her wings were hidden to most but I knew who she really was. She spread beauty and love. And her light shined so bright in this world. Our life is so much better because Rowan was in it. 4.5 years is not long enough to love you on this earth Row. I will love you forever and always Rowie. Cancer didn't win, you did my princess warrior, you did!

I love you more than the stars in the sky! you're the best Rowie ever!!!!

Now spread those hidden wings, take a cool dip, head bang to pantera while playing barbies, and dance with so much delight. You are Healed mi amor, you are healed!!!

Until we meet again my love, We Love you and you are in our hearts always.
