ROANOKE, Va. – A 51-year-old Roanoke man is in custody after a deadly stabbing Friday morning.
Just before 7:30 a.m. Friday, officers responded to the 300 block of Walnut Avenue Southeast for a report of a stabbing.
Once they arrived, they found 40-year-old Jeffery Turney, of Roanoke, who had been stabbed multiple times. He was taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Police arrested Russell Gordon and charged him with second-degree murder.
Police say Turney and Gordon were arguing before the fatal stabbing.
They also said the two men knew each other before Friday morning's incident.
The investigation remains ongoing.
