ROANOKE, Va. – UPDATE
Police took a red Chevy Silverado into evidence they say may have hit and killed a 58-year-old woman last week.
During the course of the investigation, police found the description of the suspect vehicle did not match what was originally provided.
On Tuesday, an investigator located the Silverado, parked in the area of 4th Street and Highland Avenue SW that had damage consistent with evidence located at the scene on Feb. 13.
The investigator spoke with the owner of this vehicle and took the truck as evidence.
At this time, no arrests have been made in the case.
This is still an ongoing investigation.
UPDATE
Roanoke Police are asking for the public's help finding the suspect car involved in the deadly downtown Roanoke hit and run earlier this week.
Authorities are searching for a white Chevrolet or GMC pickup truck with significant front-end damage.

Roanoke police have identified the pedestrian who was killed downtown in a hit and run.
Linda Pierson was a 58-year-old Roanoke resident. She was hit at the intersection of 5th Street SW and Campbell Avenue SW around 7 p.m. Wednesday.
When police arrived, they found Pierson on the sidewalk. She was taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, where she died from her injuries.
Police have not yet arrested anyone. If you have any information, you're asked to call police.

A woman died after a pedestrian-involved crash in downtown Roanoke Wednesday night, according to the Roanoke City Police Department.
The crash happened at the intersection of 5th Street Southwest and Campbell Avenue.
Authorities say the woman's name will be released later. No charges are pending.
More information will be provided Thursday, according to police.
