ROANOKE, Va. – Cars are being told to turn around as parts of Franklin Road are flooded.

This is just one of the many roads in the Roanoke area that's covered in water due to rain from Tropical Storm Michael.

This is not far from the Roanoke River, which is expected to peak at 19 feet at 8 p.m. Thursday, 3 feet above major flood threshold.
