PULASKI, Va. – After being closed for five months, the post office in downtown Pulaski is open for business. The building closed in July due to safety concerns following an Osha investigation into mold.
People who live in the area had less than 24 hours notice that they would have to travel 7 miles to the nearest post office in Dublin.
Customers using the post office for the first time on Wednesday say they couldn't be happier.
"It was convenient and it was quick. I have not been to the post office in this area because I was not going to Dublin, I was going to Giles County. So this was great to have it open and get my business done for the day. I work in the area but I've avoided having going to Dublin. I rather go back to Giles," said Lori Meredith.
The newly remodeled post office will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
