Amtrak tickets now available out of Roanoke station

First train leaves Roanoke on Halloween

ROANOKE, Va. – Amtrak has begun selling tickets out of the soon-to-open Roanoke station.

Trains will begin leaving Roanoke on Amtrak's Northeast Regional line, which will go from Roanoke to Boston. Along the way, the train will stop in Lynchburg, Charlottesville, Culpepper, Washington, D.C., Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York City, and other cities along the Northeast Corridor.

The lowest fare available from Roanoke to Lynchburg is $14 at the saver rate, which begins Nov. 4.

The train will stop in downtown Roanoke at a newly-constructed passenger platform with a canopy located at 55 Norfolk Ave., SW.

Public parking facilities are available adjacent to the Roanoke station stop.

The Roanoke station is scheduled to open on Halloween.
