DANVILLE, Va. – A Danville restaurant was forced to shut down early after a van crashed into it.
It happened at Biscuitville on Riverside Drive.
According to Danville Fire Department Battalion Chief Dean Fowler, the call came in just after 9:30 a.m.
The driver of the van, who didn't want to go on camera, said he was pulling into a parking space when the gas pedal got stuck.
No one was hurt, but employees and the few customers inside were evacuated as a precaution.
"We basically just shored the structure up to make sure we don't have any collapse as a result of the damage that it received," Fowler said.
"Then, we'll just cordon it off and they'll have somebody come in and repair the building."
It was unknown Wednesday afternoon if the restaurant would be open Thursday.
