Foot Levelers Blue Ridge Marathon cancelled due to lighting

ROANOKE, Va. – The Foot Levelers Blue Ridge Marathon was officially canceled at 4 hours and 52 minutes into the race due to the lighting and severe weather.

Runners who were close to the finish line were advised by officials that they would have to continue the race at their own risk. They will be given unofficial end times if they chose to finish. Runners who wished to be picked up were given shuttles back to the starting line. Spectators were also advised that the race had been canceled and to clear the area.

All three races start at 7:35 a.m. and our stream will be running as people cross the finish line for the Foot Levelers Blue Ridge Marathon, the Foot Levelers Blue Ridge Half Marathon and the Anthem Star 10K.
