HENRY COUNTY (WSLS 10) - Fire crews worked to extinguish an overnight fire in Henry County.
It consumed one of the buildings on the Bassett Chair Company property.
Crews first responded to the scene shortly after 10 p.m. on Wednesday.
Crews say the company hasn't been in business for several years, and the building was being used for storage. That's why crews don't know yet why it caught fire, destroying the building, and everything inside.
Seven fire crews responded to the scene, with more than 60 volunteer firefighters. No one was injured.
The Bassett Chair Company is more than 100 years old, and county public safety director Matt Tatum says that is part of the reason the fire is proving hard to put out.
"It's not going to be an easy fire to totally get out because of the age of the structure and the contents of the sawdust and wood products that was in it, that was being stored in it," said Tatum.
He says crews have been able to contain the fire to the single building and are now putting out any remaining patches of fire that spring up.
