Emily Kirschenheuter, KRON and Justine Waldman – PALO ALTO (KRON) — Court documents released on the Stanford rape case show that Brock Turner lied to Judge Aaron Persky about his drug use.
Former Stanford swimmer and convicted rapist Brock Turner will only serve half of his six-month jail sentence after being found guilty of sexually assaulting an unconscious woman on the Palo Alto campus after a party in 2015.

The lenient sentence sparked outrage nationwide and the victim's powerful letter has ignited a heated debate over women's rights and college culture.
A court character witness painted the star swimmer as a good kid with Olympic dreams. Turner described himself to Judge Persky as someone who was inexperienced when it came to alcohol and drugs.
"Coming from a small town in Ohio, I had never really experienced celebrating or partying that involved alcohol," Turner told the Judge Persky.
On Turner's cell phone, the prosecution found pictures and texts proving that he lied about his partying past and history with drugs.
The pictures show him smoking from a bong and drinking liquor and many texts were found with messages about buying and selling weed and even harder drugs like MDMA and acid.
"I've got a hankering for a good acid trip," Turner said in a text message.
Turner had also been arrested on campus prior to the rape case for having beer and a fake ID.
