Roanoke police investigating city's first homicide of 2016

WSLS.com Staff and The Associated Press – ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - Roanoke police are investigating the city's first homicide of the year.

Investigators say it happened just before 5 p.m. on Tuesday, February 23. Officers were called to the 500 block of Westwood Boulevard NW, where they found Martavious Ra'Shad Cook, 26, dead inside a home.

The cause of death is under investigation but police are calling it a homicide. Investigators are still gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses. No arrest has been made.
