Nation's Gun show in VA draws in thousands of gun buyers

CHANTILLY, VA (WSLS10) -Lines of people stretch out the door at the Nation's gun show just before the president sits down to discuss gun control laws.

The annual event was held at the Dulles expo center in Chantilly.President Barack Obama says he wants to close the gun show loophole which allows people to buy guns without background checks.

Meanwhile, gun owners like Walter Bingham say they believe the president's executive action plans increased fear and show attendance.

"There is a lot more people in the show than I've seen in a long time," Bingham said. "They've actually opened another side of the venue and stuff like that. So, has it had an impact? I think it probably has had a pretty big impact on the sales."

Exhibitors say "the nation's gun show" also specializes in gun training.

President Obama is expected to meet with attorney general Loretta Lynch Monday to discuss gun control laws.
