"It makes it a lot more convenient, and it's gonna enable me to use the facility more," says Jepson. "If I need to do training outside of weekends I could use it more."
The center is equipped with an armory, weapons simulator, and a fenced lot for military vehicles.
County and town officials were excited to finally see the center open, hoping it could attract businesses to come.
"Having this building is great because upwards of 300 people will be here any given weekend doing training and exercises and those folks will have to eat they're gonna try to find a place to stay some occasions I think we'll be able ot attract businesses out here," says Traci Blido, director of economic development.
However, even though the center is complete for now, it is missing something: a name.
The Army Reserve wants to dedicate the building in memory of a fallen soldier.
"It would be a great honor because it's not everyday you memorialize a facility for someone who gave that ultimate sacrifice," says Jody Martin, administrator and facility manager.
If you may know someone who would qualify, you can email the facility manager at jody.l.martin4.civ@mail.mil
The army reserve will be holding a ribbon cutting once it chooses the soldier to recognize.
