ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - Both Roanoke-area Carmike Theaters will soon operate under the AMC banner.
In March, the Carmike at the Tanglewood Mall will become AMC Classic Roanoke 10 and the Carmike theater in Salem will become AMC Classic Salem Valley 8.

As part of this transition, AMC says the "AMC Classic" brand:
Will be fun, friendly, local theatres, at which guests can depend upon for a great movie-going experience with value in mind. These theatres will offer Coca-Cola Freestyle machines, menu items like pretzel bites and movie nachos, refillable annual popcorn buckets and some may include MacGuffins bars and Prime at AMC. The brand logo for AMC Classic incorporates the folded "C" graphical element from the legacy Carmike brand logo and the brand is adopting Carmike's "America's Hometown Theatres" tagline.
Both theaters will be supported by amctheaters.com, the AMC app and the AMC social media channels.
The AMC Stubs rewards program will be replacing the former Carmike and Sundance partners rewards programs.
Have a Carmike gift card? AMC says "Valid Carmike tickets and gift cards will be honored at Carmike locations. Once a theatre converts into the AMC brand of theatres – we will be able to accept both Carmike and AMC gift cards. We anticipate being able to honor Carmike gift cards and discount tickets at ALL AMC theatres (even those that were not formerly Carmike locations) within a few months."
