Bedford County schools start new year with new logo, goals

BEDFORD COUNTY – Monday, August 14 is the first day of class for students in Bedford County.

The district is giving out nearly 1,000 Chromebooks to students at Staunton River Middle School and Jefferson Forest High School.

There is also a new logo to go along with the strategic plan. The logo says "Empowering learners for future success".

The strategic goals include improving preschool quality and enrollment, developing a student wellness plan, eliminating food vending machines for students, and expanding ways students can earn college credits and industry credentials. You can see more of the plan here.

Construction work also still continues on Liberty Middle School which opens next August.
