UPDATEA baby that was reported missing out of Louisa County is home safe and the abductor is in custody, according to Virginia State Police. The Amber Alert originally issued for Killian Briers was canceled around 5:45 a.m. Wednesday. ORIGINAL STORYAuthorities are searching for a baby who was abducted out of Louisa County, according to Virginia State Police. Police said Lauren Lloyd abducted 7-month-old Killian Briers on Sunday. Virginia teenager sentenced to 128 years in connection with โheinousโ shooting, robbery of elderly couple
LOUISA COUNTY, Va. โ A teenager faces 128 years in prison in connection with the 2019 murder of a man and malicious wounding of his wife in Louisa County, Virginia. As 10 News first reported in November 2019, the teenager shot an elderly couple outside of their home in Louisa County. The teenager told the couple โhe had been watching them and knew they had money,โ according to McGuire. McGuire said the teenager told the couple they would be fine. Several hours after the murder, police saw the teenager driving the coupleโs car in Nelson County, according to McGuire.

2.7 magnitude earthquake recorded in Virginia
LOUISA CO., Va. โ A minor 2.7 magnitude earthquake was recorded in Louisa, according to the United States Geological Survey. This isnโt too far from the 4.8 magnitude quake that happened in Mineral years ago. No damage or injuries were reported, as earthquakes of this magnitude tend to be weak. While it wasnโt felt in Roanoke, it was detected at the seismograph on Virginia Techโs campus.

LOUISA COUNTY, Va. - A Louisa County 14-year-old girl was last seen at 1 a.m. Monday, but it wasn't until shortly before 6 p.m. Friday that an Amber Alert was issued for Isabel Hicks. Why wasn't the Amber Alert issued sooner? Virginia State Police say they've been in contact with the Louisa County Sheriff's Office since Isabel went missing but says that all mandatory criteria for an Amber Alert were not met until Friday. When I reached out to the Sheriff's Office, I learned that the Sheriff's Office was finally able to obtain an abduction warrant on Lynch, which allowed the green light for the Amber Alert. The Sheriff's Office didn't explain why there was a holdup in obtaining this warrant.

Isabel Shea Hicks, 14, was last seen Monday morning at her home in Bumpass, Virginia, which is in Louisa County, east of Charlottesville. Isabel is described as being 4 feet, 11 inches tall and weighing about 120 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes. Lynch is 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighs about 190 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. The FBI considers Lynch armed and potentially dangerous and said people are told to not approach him if they see him.
Man gets 10 years for sexually assaulting woman at Virginia campground
LOUISA COUNTY, Va. - A man was sentenced to 10 years for sexually assaulting a woman at a Virginia campground. Jason Karsten, 38, was found guilty of sexually assaulting a woman at a Lousia county campground, according to the Louisa County Commonwealth's Attorney, Rusty McGuire. Authorities say a 38-year-old woman was at the campground with her children in June 2018. One evening, the victim, accompanied by Karsten, walked to a lake where shortly after getting in the water, he sexually assaulted her, according to authorities. Louisa County Circuit Court sentenced Karsten to 10 years in prison.
