BEDFORD – Authorities have identified the body of a woman found early Saturday morning in Bedford County.
Dana C. Ray, 47, of Forest, was found in the 17000 block of Forest Road, according to the Bedford County Sheriff's Office.
The Roanoke medical examiner advises the cause of death is inconclusive pending the results of the toxicology report.
The Sheriff's Office says there are no signs of foul play.
The body of a woman was found early Saturday morning in Bedford County. According to Chief Deputy Major Ricky Gardner at 5:04 a.m. Saturday morning Bedford County 911 dispatchers received a call from a person who had found a deceased body in the 17000 block of Forest Road.
Bedford County Sheriff’s deputies went to the scene and found a "deceased white female lying in a grassy area." Deputies also found a vehicle they believe belongs to her nearby, according to Gardner.
At this time, investigators do not suspect foul play as a cause of death. Investigators are attempting to locate and notify next of kin.
The body was transported to the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Roanoke to determine the cause of death and for a positive identification.
