Salem, VA (WSLS) - Drivers are revving their engines and racing for charity.
The "Blue Ridge Region Sports Car Club of America" held a charity race with 60 drivers taking part at a special track at the Salem Civic Center.
They competed for points but raced to help the Salem Roanoke Food Pantry.Â
"This is a venue that we can allow people to come out safely run their cars as fast as they want and it's a good service to the community," Rob Leslie the director of Blue Ridge Region Sports Car Club of America said.
This was the final race of the year, last the club raised nearly $1,700.
