PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. – The Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help finding a person of interest in a malicious wounding incident.
Deputies are searching for 34-year-old Antone Lemont Hamlett in connection with a Tuesday incident in Halifax County.

He is 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs about 185 pounds..
Hamlett’s vehicle was found abandoned off U.S. Highway 29 Tuesday afternoon, just south of the Gretna exit.
Authorities believe Hamlett is on foot.
Police canine teams were called in and are in the immediate area of where Hamlett was last seen.
Anyone who believes he or she has seen Hamlett, or someone fitting his description, is asked to notify the nearest law enforcement agency.
