Man found dead next to building on fire, possible explosion

Sheriff's Office and fire marshal are investigating

PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. – The Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office and fire marshal are investigating after finding a man dead inside a building next to another building engulfed in flames.

The Pittsylvania County 911 communications center received a call for service around 1:30 p.m. Saturday for a possible explosion in the 600 block of Buford Road.

When first responders arrived, they found the man dead. His body has been sent to the medical examiner’s office for an official cause of death. No foul play is suspected in the incident.
