Information leads to Danville drug seizure, arrests, police say

More than $9,000 seized

DANVILLE, Va. – Police arrested four people on Sunday and seized cocaine, cash and other items after executing a search warrant in Danville, authorities said.

Danville police said investigators received information on Sunday that drugs were being sold at a motel on Riverside Drive.

After investigated and arrested 32-year-old Benjamin Florence on outstanding warrants.

They executed a search warrant in the motel room where Florence was arrested and said they found more than 2 ounces of cocaine with an approximate street value of $6,200, $3,000 in cash, two digital scales, drug paraphernalia and clothing commonly associated with the Bloods gang.

Three others were also arrested.

Derrick Lamont Graves, 33, was arrested for second offense possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, Robert Daniel Arnold Jr., 51, was arrested for possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and Michael Jerome Keith, 50, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

Additional charges are likely, police said.
