Former Christian school teacher wanted on multiple child sex crimes turns himself in to police

Good taught at Westover Christian Academy

DANVILLE, Va. – A former teacher is in jail, accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student.

Danville police say Jonathan Good turned himself in Wednesday.

Tuesday, police announced that warrants had been issued for his arrest for four charges of indecent liberties with a 16 year-old.

He taught at Westover Christian Academy.

In a statement released Wednesday, the school said when it learned of the relationship in March the student's parents and the police were notified.

The school said Good has since resigned.

According to police, Good and the student exchanged text messages and had inappropriate contact at school.

As of Wednesday afternoon, Good remained in the Danville City Jail with no bond.

The Danville Police Department is searching for a former teacher who is wanted for taking indecent liberties with a student.

Westover Christian Academy in Danville contacted police last month about inappropriate texts being exchanged between a teacher and a 16-year-old female student, according to police.

An investigation began, and in addition to texts, police say they found evidence of illegal physical contact on school property. These incidents are alleged to have occurred between the teacher and student during the month of March.

A grand jury issued indictments against 38-year-old Jonathan Christopher Good, of Sandy Ridge, N.C., on Tuesday. He is charged with four counts of taking indecent liberties with a child by a person in a supervisory or custodial relationship.
