Five people escape without injuries

ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. – Roanoke County Fire and Rescue crews put out a house fire on the 1700 block of Mountain Heights Drive in Masons Cove Saturday afternoon.

According to Roanoke County Fire and Rescue, five people in the house escaped unharmed. The fire, which was reported around 1:50 p.m., was contained within the wall of the house. The fire marshal believes the cause was a contractor hitting an electrical wire while drilling. The damage is estimated at $4,000.
