White's case could go to Virginia Supreme Court

PULASKI COUNTY, Va. – The Virginia attorney general's office wants the Virginia Supreme Court to consider the case of a Pulaski County woman convicted in connection to the death of her 5-year-old son.

Ashley White's son, Noah Thomas, drowned in a septic tank in 2015.

Earlier this month, a three-judge panel overturned White's conviction for child abuse, saying she was not "criminally" responsible.

The state attorney general's office asked the full court to reconsider the case, but last week the court denied that request.

The Pulaski County commonwealth's attorney says his office is considering an appeal.
