Person of Year 2017 is 'Silence Breakers'

RADFORD, Va. – People in Southwest Virginia are reacting to Time naming its Person of the Year as the Silence Breakers from the Me Too movement.

The Women's Resource Center of the New River Valley in Radford helps women in the area who are victims of sexual assault and harassment. Executive director Pat Brown said this movement has been in the works for decades.

"To think something that you thought could happen--it could happen, this could happen, we can change the world, we can change our piece of the world, we can change cultural... This is a great big ole cultural change," Brown said.
