Injured endangered Peregrine Falcon found in Giles County

ROANOKE – A rare endangered bird was rescued from the New River Valley, now emergency treatment is underway to save it. A peregrine falcon was found in Giles County Saturday.

It was taken to the Southwest Virginia Wildlife center in Roanoke for treatment.

According to Executive Director Sabrina Garvin, the falcon is sick and underweight.

The falcon will be transported to the Virignia Wildlife Center in Waynesboro Monday morning for treatment.
