It’s all relative!
Even behind a cold front crossing Saturday afternoon, temperatures will still be at or slightly above normal behind it. The insanity that has been the February of 2017 continues! If February ended today (25th) we would be taking over the current warmest February on record by a full degree. I don’t see any way in which our current February doesn’t take over the top spot.
Our front coming in from the west will spark off a few showers and thunderstorms throughout the rest of Saturday morning and through parts of the afternoon. An isolated severe thunderstorm is possible, but the bulk of the severe weather should remain well outside of our area.
Everyone will notice when that front pushes through the afternoon. Other than the slightly cooler air spilling in this evening, the winds will really crank up to a tune of 20-25 miles per hour. Gusts at times could top 30mph,
PROTECT THE PLANTS
It is February, but trees and plants think we are well into spring and who can blame them? We could have some serious problems going forward for the vegetation that has already started budding as we flirt with the freezing mark over the next few days. The good news is we don’t have Arctic cold coming yet, but that could change later into March. Keep an eye on those plants over the next few days and keep your fingers crossed that a bigger batch of colder air isn’t planning on taking a vacation south until next winter.
