It’s. About. Time.
Maybe I’m going a little over the top here, but hey we haven’t had a cold front actually bring us relief in a long time. Check out the temperatures from Saturday morning. Notice the eastern 2/3 of the country is still blazing with temperatures in the middle 70s. Look way off to the north and west though…
Temperatures behind our approaching cold front are in the 40s and 50s. A few spots even bottomed out in the 30s! Having said that our new air mass will modify on it’s trip across the country, but by Tuesday morning we could start the day with temperatures in the upper 50s to low 60s. Don’t worry summer lovers…it is still going to be plenty warm for us. Sunshine will warm temperatures back to near 80 degrees through the upcoming work week, but the humidity will be non existent.
By Monday afternoon, dew points will fall back into the 40s and 50s. Remember 60s and 70s feel humid to tropical, which is where we have been for quite some time now.
There is a bonus with our air mass change as well! Sunshine looks to dominate for much of the upcoming work week so get out and enjoy the triumphant return of comfortable air and sunshine’s extended stay. Now that we are in the latter portion of August and heading into September, these “stronger” cold fronts and less humid days will start to become more common as we transition to fall in about a month! If I’m scaring you..don’t worry there’s no real end to the warmth in sight.
