Packages containing autism treatment items stolen from porch

SOUTH JORDAN, Utah (AP) — Police are looking for a woman shown in surveillance footage taking packages that contained autism treatment items from a psychologist’s porch about 20 miles south of Salt Lake City.

The Deseret News reports ( the items taken May 16 are valued at $2,000 and are used to treat and evaluate kids with autism.

The suspect is described as a dark-haired white woman in her 30s.

South Jordan police officer Sam Winkler says package theft has been increasing over the years. The department encourages people to have their packages delivered elsewhere if they won’t be home to receive them.

People with information about the theft are being asked to contact authorities.
