3 people killed in Va. identified as relatives of suspect

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Authorities in Chesterfield County have identified three people whose bodies were found in a home.

Twenty-eight-year-old Carl V. Hughes IV was being held at Riverside Regional Jail on three counts of first-degree murder.

According to The Richmond Times-Dispatch (http://bit.ly/1Mu4O8m), warrants filed in Chesterfield Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court identified the victims as Hughes’ father, Carl Hughes Jr.; his mother, Angela Hughes; and his sister, Bianca Hughes.

Officers discovered the bodies in a home on Wednesday night. The officers were responding to a request from the Richmond Police Department to check on the welfare of the home’s residents.
