2 dead in explosion in Armenia’s capital

YEREVAN, Armenia (AP) — Armenia’s investigative committee says an explosion of a bus in the country’s capital has left two dead and seven injured.

Investigators have not yet determined the cause of the Monday evening explosion on the streets of Yerevan, several kilometers northwest of the central square.

Armenian’s chief of police Vladimir Gasparyan said the explosion was inside the bus and it was not a diesel fuel explosion or a gas cylinder leak, according to Armenian news reports.

Local news websites showed photos of a gutted bus with its windows shattered.
