Alleged gang member wanted for Maryland murder arrested in Bedford County

BEDFORD COUNTY (WSLS 10) - A murder suspect with alleged ties to the MS-13 gang is in jail in Bedford County.

According to online records, Jose Coreas-Ventura was arrested Tuesday on a murder warrant from Montgomery County, Maryland.

He waived extradition during a court hearing in Bedford on Wednesday.

Police in Maryland said Coreas-Ventura is one of four suspects involved in the deadly stabbing of an 18-year-old man.

The murder happened over the summer at a park in Gaithersburg.

Two of the suspects were arrested shortly after the incident.

They told detectives that they believe the victim was a member of a rival gang and investigators say all four have ties to MS-13.

There is no word on what Coreas-Ventura was doing in Bedford County.

He is being held without bond in the Blue Ridge Regional Jail.
